Every year, the Niketan Welfare Society celebrates Eid-ul-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, with immense reverence and a spirit of devotion. During this major religious festival in the Muslim world, we sacrifice animals with the intention of pleasing Almighty Allah. It stands as a unique example of self-sacrifice, dedication, and profound love for Allah. Remembering the immense sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him), we pledge on this day to cast aside our inner 'animalistic' tendencies. Forgetting all differences on this Eid day, we unite and extend hands of empathy and love to one another.
One of the primary challenges following the sacrifice during Eid-ul-Adha is waste management. The Niketan Welfare Society has consistently met this challenge with great success each year. Immediately after the sacrifices, the cleaning staff of the Niketan Residential Area promptly get to work. Through their tireless efforts and meticulous management, all sacrificial waste is collected and removed to designated areas. As a result, the entire residential area quickly returns to a clean and healthy environment, setting a shining example of the Niketan Welfare Society's efficiency and dedication to public service.
On the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, under the initiative of the Niketan Welfare Society, special prayers and supplications are offered for all residents of the Niketan Residential Area and the entire Muslim Ummah at the Niketan Central Mosque after the Eid prayers. Concurrently, to spread Eid greetings, Eid greeting banners are displayed at various important points throughout the Niketan Residential Area, further enhancing the festive atmosphere. The Niketan Welfare Society firmly believes that celebrating such religious festivals strengthens social bonds and helps foster mutual love and harmony.
